Steam & Lumber

Established in 2015, Steam & Lumber was founded by percussionist Matt Stonehouse. The frame drums are made from beautiful salvaged timbers such as Pin Oak (Quercus Polustris) and the uniquely Australian timber species Blackwood (Acacia Melanoxylon) and Spotted Gum (Corymbia Maculata). Drums are offered in either traditional goat skin or synthetic REMO Emperor heads and come with hand woven banding, making the drum an absolute pleasure to hold. No two frame drums are the same and each instrument is passionately hand crafted from start to finish.
