Zilli-Tar frame drum

This hand-crafted Zilli-Tar features natural skin, steam-bent Tasmanian Blackwood (Acacia Melanoxylan), hand-hammered bronze zills and hand woven Uzbekistan banding. This drum is a 'one-off' and was steambent thicker than our other drums at 10mm instead of 8mm. The result is extra bass and thicker tone.
It has a magnificent deep rich bass and lovely high tones. Zilli-Tar drums were created by Steam and Lumber to allow the player the perfect balance of skin and zill tone. The zills can be played similar to the Riqq/ Tef, or in open position sounding the full cymbal. They have many different playing possibilities. Soft case included.
